Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former twice world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually happening.
